Public Sewers
Building over and new connections to public drains and sewers:
The local Water Authority are responsible for maintaining thousands of kilometres of public sewers to ensure the safe removal of wastewater from domestic and commercial property. These sewers are often within the property boundary and in some instances run close to or underneath buildings. Building work can affect these sewers and it is the Water Authorities responsibility to ensure that no damage is caused to them or restrictions are placed on how they access and maintain them.
On the occasions that an application to the Local Water Authority for permission to build over or connect to their drains is required, I will undertake to provide all necessary plans and make the application on your behalf.
